This map, the "Present Rapid Transit System—Boston Elevated Railway and Proposed Extensions of Rapid Transit into Suburban Boston,” was originally published in 1945 by the Metropolitan Transit Recess Commission, a state appointed board charged with studying the future of rapid transit for Greater Boston. This rare map represents existing and proposed stations in pictorial detail, showing tunnel portals, "over" and "under" tracks, as well as diagrammatic station layouts. Fine art print is museum-quality, printed with archival inks on acid-free paper. Paper is non-glossy with a matte finish.
